Paris Presbyterian Church is currently seeking a Youth Pastor.

Youth Pastor Job Description:

Terms of employment: part time (15 hrs week)

Contract position subject to yearly review and renewal

Salary: $20/hr

Benefits: 4 weeks vacation (4 Sunday’s)

Start date: June 1, 2012 (negotiable)

Description:

Paris Presbyterian Church is a vibrant mid-sized congregation with a deep desire to love God and serve the world. We are committed to encouraging, inspiring and raising our youth to lead the next generation in a way that is pleasing to God. We are looking for a person who loves the Lord, and who is passionate about serving youth and families in the church and the community to lead this ministry. The ideal candidate should be able to recruit, encourage and equip our volunteers for ministry.

Requirements:

We desire a committed Christian with people skills to develop and lead our youth ministry in order to encourage the spiritual development of our youth and to reach out into the community for Christ. The successful applicant will be expected to:

a. Plan, develop and be involved with the events of senior youth (grades 9-12)

b. Recruit and train volunteers from the congregation to assist with youth ministry

c. Connect with senior youth (grades 9-12) and their families (Sunday am and other times in the week)

d. Attend and be involved in some of the events of junior youth (grades 4-8) in order to foster relationships with the next generation of senior youth

e. Assist in developing outreach and mission opportunities

f. Hold a valid G drivers license with access to own transportation

g. Be in compliance with the policies of the Presbyterian Church in Canada (Leading With Care)

h. Engage in long-range planning for youth

i. Oversight of Program budgets relating to the senior youth at PPC.

This position will report directly to the Nurture committee.
